Art, for me, is a form of prayer. Each painting I've created has been a process through which my own spirituality has grown. When I begin a painting, I have, in my mind’s eye, a particular image. However, as I work, I often find the image forming differently than I’d envisioned. It's as though each piece takes on it's own identity, telling me what is to be. I pray before beginning a painting, asking for guidance throughout it’s progression. I ask, always, that I may paint in true devotion; that every stroke of my brush may be an act of love for my God and will, reverently, pay Him tribute. I hope to share my own spiritual journey, with others, through my art.
The pieces in this gallery are simple laser prints of original paintings and drawings. Unless otherwise specified, the originals are not for sale. A custom piece may be commissioned. You can ask for anything from a small colored pencil drawing to a large acrylic painting. Prices will vary accordingly. I’d love you to have my work, so, if you would like an original piece, please contact me, Marilyn Nash.
